Young Matron’s League Tryout - 10/2/1948
This is one of the early shows where the couple are called the Cugats. Liz has something important she wants to talk to George about. She wants to try out for a play staged by the Young Matron’s League. Apparently, a big Hollywood director will be in the audience and she wants George to let her audition for the play so she can be in the show and get a Hollywood contract. George says no but that’s just a formality to Liz. She immediately starts scheming to get in the play but you have to listen to the show to find what happens.
Mother-In-Law - 11/4/1949
A letter arrives from George’s mother sealed like Fort Knox. Liz tells Katy about how her mother-in-law faked a heart attack at her wedding and sent towels monogrammed with His and His. Liz is anxious to know what the letter says so immediately tries to give George the mail but is distracted by a kiss. In the letter, Mrs. Cooper tells George that she is planning to move to Sheridan Falls much to Liz’s dismay. When George and Liz can’t find an apartment in town, she quickly moves in with them...for a few days. Can the two most important women in George’s life live under the same roof?
The Football Game - 10/28/1950
Iris and Liz discuss how much they dread football season with their husbands. They can’t stand the raccoon coats, rooter caps, and ukeleles. With the husbands college homecoming in three days, the girls decide not to accompany their husbands to the homecoming...no matter how much the husbands beg. Before Liz and Iris can lay down the law, the husbands tell them they weren’t going to take them. Now what do the ladies do?
